Abstract

The requests for a side head protection system are increasing by the growing importance of the passenger protection during the rollover of a vehicle. These challenges can be mastered by intelligent use of fabric technology. By using new weaving kinds and unique surface coats, rollover protection becomes possible. A new kind of weaving enables the use of in woven tethers. This results in a defined thickness of the bag throughout the whole protection area. By using a foil lamination on the bag, a gas leakage can be avoided. These technologies set new standards for the side head protection. For the covering abstract see ITRD E126782.
