Abstract

This paper briefly reviews: (1) research results that have been widely put into practice (on: optical and highway design formation of the appearance of a road by means of carriageway and edge marking); (2) current subjects of research (on: children's ability to take in information and judge speed of approaching vehicles, visual ability of older drivers, perception in night driving); (3) future research themes.
