Abstract

The pressure applied by the ADAC to improve driver rescue in Germany is outlined. Attention is drawn to the need of spreading knowledge of first aid among drivers and to the need of speeding up the arrival on the scene of the rescue services by setting up a denser communication network. Special emphasis is placed on air rescue services (helicopters) to provide quicker medical services at the scene of an accident and to reduce transport risks for the severely injured.
