Abstract

In spite of the existing international legal and technical documents in force today, drivers around the world encounter many different types of road signing, markings and safety equipment such as traffic control devices, street lighting, guardrails, curve and bend delineators and others. The present paper describes briefly certain aspects of this situation around the world, enumerates the different legal documents in force today before outlining different suggestions to assist government authorities to use them to their best advantage.
