Abstract

The growth of private transport in towns and urban regions compels us to reconstruct existing road networks and more over the supplement them with additional urban expressway networks. Munich is an example of the growth of motor traffic. Traffic on the radial roads at the edge of the city increased by about 90 percent in seven years (1958/65) both in terms of 24 hour volumes and peak hour volumes.
