Abstract

Calculations have been made of the effect of private transport users in the central area of London transferring to public transport in peak periods. Several alternative systems were investigated all using buses. This theoretical work, based on empirical data, is purely exploratory; the political and administrative aspects of attempting to put any of these schemes into effect are not discussed.
