Abstract
Research information specialists, man or woman, which must sell science to the common people: Are they really useful? They should form the link between science as a source of knowledge and the areas in the society which have problems. This implies that science and technology are good for the society. That is the question however. The standard model of the science as the bearer of real knowledge and as a superior problem solver is discutable.
