Abstract

The project of developing a real-time multimodal transport information system, which began in March of 1995, is composed of three phases. The first phase ended in September of 1996, concentrating on developing the intercity/rural highway traffic monitoring system, public transport information system and information-providing system. The second phase ended in December of 1997, concentrating on improving and expanding the system developed in the first phase. The third phase is under planning stage. In this paper the case studies of the first and second phase are presented, which includes the contents of furnished information, details of the developed systems and results of the test operations. Also, the development strategy of the third phase is presented. For the covering abstract see ITRD E114174.
