Abstract

Recently, cellular phones together with PDA's (Personal Digital Assistance) have come into wide use, and the position information has come to be obtained easily by using GPS (Global Positioning System) or PHS (Personal Handy-phone System). Furthermore, a novel position information acquisition system by means of IC tags has been proposed by the authors. Under these circumstances, the need for pedestrian navigation system has rapidly increased. The development of three-dimensional navigation system for pedestrians is described.
