Abstract

Measures adopted in France aimed at reducing the accident rate among children travelling as car passengers are discussed. Using a number of different safety cushions, designed for the 3-10 year of age group to give improved safety belt location on a child's body, tests were carried out on an impact sled to develop dynamic response characteristics of such safety cushion devices and their efficiency regarding the restraint of child dummies.
