Abstract

Thresholds for the perception of angular acceleration and specific forces were experimentally determined in a moving base flight simulator. The thresholds were determined by using sinusoidally changing test signals at a number of frequencies. It was shown that the thresholds of the semicircular canals of the vestibular system are directly related to a minimum cupula displacement.
