Abstract

A study is described in which data on goods vehicle flows across cordons around a number of towns were collected and analysed in terms of simple parameters describing the towns. Vehicles were grouped into those which stopped within the cordon areas and those which passed through without stopping. Data analysis was concerned chiefly with vehicles of over 1.5 tons unladen weight.
