Tibia bending: Strength and response.

Abstract

Adult human lower leg bones were subjected to three-point bending tests in an effort to quantify the bending strength and mechanical response characteristics of this major skeletal component of the lower extremities. The results reported add new tibial fracture tolerance and mechanical response information to the literature.
