The research reported concerns a method of calculating the effects of a temporary road-block, e.g. at railway-crossings and bridges. The effects are represented by the size and duration of the resulting disturbance, the number of affected vehicles and their extra travel time. The effects are related to the duration of the block and the flow of the undisturbed stream.Extra travel times are dependent on the sqare of the duration of the block and other disturbance-parameters on the duration itself.
