Abstract

A study of the lag structure inherent in the construction of urban mass transit systems. The hypothesis is that the construction time of components in a mass transit system can be explained by the scale, the technological characteristics of the class of projects to which a contract belongs and its complexity. Variants of the hypothesis are tested from the Bay Area Rapid Transit District (BARTD).
