Abstract
In this paper, human performance in tolerance-band monitoring and failure detection is investigated, based on an extensive experimental program and related human operator models. The six factors investigated include the number of displayed processes, bandwidths, event probabilities, field of view, process couplings, and couplings of superimposed failure processes, each in combination with eye-movement recordings.
