Abstract

Development of toll highways in Malaysia has been given a tremendous boost during the last fourteen years largely due to the government's privatisation policy. As the country moves towards development nation status, a good transportation infrastructure is a prerequisite, of which roads and highways play a major contributing role. Malaysia has over a thousand kilometres of toll highways in operation, with over a thousand kilometres more under construction or in the planning stage.
