Abstract

Enforcement is a key element in all tolling systems, be it in a multi-lane free flow environment or in stop-and-go situations. All road users should be able to enjoy uninterrupted traffic flow with no additional congestion due to the operation of such tolling systems. The importance of a smart system design for the preservation of a smooth traffic flow is described by giving some examples of two "TollChecker" road-side enforcement solutions. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
