Abstract

The benefits of having a centralized system of analysing all aspects of urban transportation is outlined, as a method of overcoming difficulties in providing urban transportation. The practice of public transit planning, road construction and maintenance and traffic management operating under different policies is determined to be a major cause of inefficiency and a cause of competing vested- interest groups.
