Abstract

There has been little empirical research investigation on purchasing consortium issues focusing on a detailed analysis of IT-based procurement strategies. Based on the detailed investigation of academic literature and a survey on e-Marketplaces/procurement service providers in the automotive and electronics industry sectors, an overall statement is assessed: Effective participation in electronic purchasing consortia has the potential to enhance competitive advantage. For the covering abstract see ITRD E126595.
