Abstract

ASF has launched a project aimed at designing a comprehensive tool dedicated to produce reliable travel times. The first module of the tool was completed early 2005 when ASF and its subsidiary ESCOTA set up, for the first time in Europe, inter-operator travel times. Concerning the second module, ASF has started up a comparative analysis aimed at assessing the possibility to cross-check two different methods of calculation. A third module deals with improving the accuracy performance of calculation while limiting investments in additional equipments. Finally, the last module concerns the deployment of a tool which will offer travel times forecasts. For the covering abstract see ITRD E134653.
