Abstract

The environmental adaptation of roads and frontages in shopping centres along traffic routes should be directed towards a change from uncontrolled speed and frontage development to speed and activity profiles. In the core of the centre special design and control measures should be introduced to achieve the desired speed behaviour, while the frontage function should be modified to reduce pedestrian vehicle conflict.
