Abstract

The structure of an emergency reporting system includes the terminal equipment, the emergency report centre and the rescue services. The terminal equipment consists of a cellular communication device, positioning device with a GPS receiver and a gyro sensor, and a hands-free phone control device. The equipment will be activated manually by button push or automatically by explosion of an air bag. Ways of securing the reliability of the terminal equipment are described and specifications given. Ways of reducing the cost of the terminal equipment are also explored.
