Abstract

This project is intended to identify all the specific competencies required for the safe operation of a heavy vehicle, based on existing sources. This list of necessity includes most competencies required for the safe operation of light vehicles. Based on available literature and the consultant's experience, an assessment is made of the importance of each of the competencies, and each competency rated as `essential', `important', or `desirable'. In some few cases the status of the competency is rated as `uncertain' or `unimportant'.
