Abstract

Dynamic traffic management measures (DTM) can be powerful instruments to improve accessibility and to reduce externalities. This research provides a suitable approach to incorporate externalities as objectives for DTM on a network level taking route choice effects and traffic dynamics into account. Applying the approach provides insights for policy makers and traffic engineers in how the objectives relate and what DTM strategies can be used. (Author/publisher)
