Abstract

25,150 accidents resulting in injury or death were reported in the Czech Republic in1993. 32281 persons were injured and 1524 died. The accident rate has increased in recent years and is considered unacceptably high. 4,010 accidents were related to the driver's use of alcohol and 7202 accidents were attributed to speeding.
