Abstract

This article presents a literature review of epidemiological data relevant to traffic accidents of children, including their personality and behavioral predisposition, social factors, association with risk-taking behavior, rehabilitation, and incidence of posttraumatic stress disorder (PISD). The need for prospective studies of psychiatric sequelae of such accidents is highlighted. Three case vignettes are presented.
