Abstract

The whole process of traffic accident investigation, especially technical levels or stages through which an investigation may be carried, is described. Five levels of activity in accident investigation are: reporting; at-the scene investigation; technical preparation, including delayed data collection and organization of data for study and interpretation; professional reconstruction; and cause analysis.
