Abstract

The cause of traffic accidents and factors contributing to the occurrence of the accident are examined. The cause of an accident will involve combination of simultaneous and sequential factors which each contribute to the actual accident. Cause analysis is the effort to determine why an accident occurred from the available information. Such analysis involves the determination of the complete combination of factors that caused the highway transportation system to malfunction at the time and place of the accident with resultant injury and damage.
