Abstract

This report deals with research on traffic accidents and injuries conducted by the traffic accident research unit of the Department of Pathology of the University of Adelaide, South Australia. Its object was to gather data in Australian conditions basic to the design of roads, traffic organization and vehicles, by the objective study of the medical and engineering aspects of injury producing accidents. Accidents involving pedestrians, pedal cycles, motorcycles, trucks and cars to which an ambulance was called are studied. The summary and recommendations covering 26 pages have been produced as a separate document as well as being included in the main report.
