Abstract

Dedicated Short Range communication (infra-red) and RDS-TMC (Radio Data System - Traffic Message Channel) are two of the most viable communication links between vehicles and infrastructures, the goal of which is to serve simultaneously Public Authorities and driver's demands. This paper illustrates that systems and services based on these two communication media are much more complementary than competitors. (A)
