Abstract
This booklet is aimed to assist local authorities reconcile the need to pursue traffic calming measures as a means of reducing casualties and ensure both the continuation and development of good quality local bus services. It is not a technical manual but endeavours to give all those involved in both highways design as well as general decision making, a sound briefing on the issues involved. The contents have been prepared from the experience gained by a number of local authorities but also with the kind assistance and co-operation of Passenger Transport UK. (Author/publisher)
