Abstract
Signs, asking drivers to give way to traffic coming from their right, have been installed at a traffic roundabout at Tees (Newport) Middelesbrough. The roundabout is a small one that becomes severely congested at times, and the signs were installed in october 1958 in an attempt to promote the freer flow of traffic on it. Studies were made of driver behaviour, traffic flow and journey times at various timed during the day and also during the evening peak period, first in september 1958 i.e. before the signs were installed, and again in April 1959.
