Abstract

The development of Traffic Conflicts Techniques startedin 1973. The observations that there are marked differencesin behaviour (speed, acceleration, change in direction) and accidents (number, distribution, severity) betweenapproaches and intersections led to the development ofdifferent types of observation. with these types of observations reliability and validity were sufficient. During the last years TCT was applied to the evaluation of safety measures by different research groups.
