Abstract

The aim of a project carried out by the Technical Universi-ty of Renmark was to make a survey and evaluation of theconflicts technique as a means of judbing the risk ofaccidents in unsignalized intersections. The Swedish traf-fic conflicts technique was appiied. The observers veereespecially trained in this technique. The conflictstechnique is expected to be able to reflect the level ofrisk in an intersection. The advantage of the applicationof the technique as a supplement to accident data isdemonstrated.
