Abstract

The objective of this project was to determine whether any innovative or non-standard traffic-control-devices (TCDs) could be recommended as improvements to safety at passive (i.e., no flashing lights or automatic gates) rail-highway grade crossings. The focus was on low-cost treatments that could be widely implemented.
