Traffic deaths due to blunt abdominal trauma.

Abstract

Hospital records were reviewed for 33 traffic death in which the primary injuries were intra-abdominal. Half of these lives might have been salvaged by prompt and proper diagnosis and treatment. Only one case died before reaching the hospital. This article points in the importance of seeing that severely injured patients reach appropriately trained physicians.
