Abstract

This paper describes the Traffic Information Telephone Answering System designed by the Metropolitan Expressway Public Corporation to meet diversified users' requirements. This system, supplementing conventional traffic information, automatically offers realtime information on the Metropolitan Expressway (and updates them every five minutes) in an easily understandable manner, according to the user's designation of the route number through telephone push-buttons. Details are provided of the systems architecture, and its function.
