Abstract

The purpose is to outline a new approach to solve peak hour traffic problems in cities. "The monster" illustrates the destructive car commuter traffic which continually grows mostly out of control. It needs to be tamed, and research shows that most people want this. The paper looks at pollution, accidents, and resources spent, also on positive sides such as employment and taxes. Advantages and disadvantages are discussed. Estimated benefits by traffic logistics operation rather than traditional operation on the planned future Oslo traffic situation will be given, benefits in operation costs and investment and environment.
