Abstract

France is developing a national implementation master plan for road information and traffic management, based on results of previous realizations (BISON FUTE, road information centres or PALOMAR plans). It proposes an improvement of the existing centres, a network classification, based on levels of services according to real traffic difficulties and new information services, particularly on the TERN and in the main urban areas, using MAGIC Report guidelines. But the main barrier is the organizational aspect. Plans to improve this are suggested. (A)
