Abstract

This report describes the work being done by a number of agencies visited in a resent trip to the United States. Detailed descriptions are given of methods being used to improve traffic conditions on urban motorways. These methods are (1) control of access, (2) removal of incidents, (3) priority schemes for buses, (4) area traffic control, and (5) provision of information to drivers.
