Abstract

Population decreased while the number of commuters increased. The necessary extension of the road network and of parking space in the inner zone will not be made. A dense radial network of railways and subways is planned, and car-free pedestrian zones. Apart from a bus network, the outer zone is intended for private transport, with tangential highways and parking space, and conjunctions with the railways. Between these two lies a transitional zone. Because of civil opposition against the building of the Eastern tangent, roads will be built now in such a way, that noise and pollution are minimized.
