Abstract

During the last few years investigations have shown surprising traffic safety effects from measures for cyclists. The paper is intended to give a general view of investigations of traffic safety measures for cyclists including the use of the results. In an investigation in rural areas, the traffic safety of roads with cycle tracks is compared with that of roads with edge lines providing a more or less wide area for the cyclist along the pavement edge.
