Abstract

This paper describes a traffic safety experiment with mini-roundabouts as speed reducing measures in a Swedish town. The effects of the measures were evaluated in different studies. Most of the results are positive: safety increased, interplay between road users became better, traffic noise decreased. The negative effects, i.e. time losses for car drivers and an increase in emissions on the main roads, were minimal. (A)
