Traffic safety situation and suggestions of safety policy for China.

Abstract

Traffic crashes increases with the rapid development of highway and motor vehicles in recent years. The objective of the paper is to analyze the tendency and characteristics of traffic safety and to make some useful suggestions for policy makers. The paper introduced the situation of crashes from1990 to 2006, and analyzed the characteristic and tendency of crashes data, and reviewed the domestic and overseas policies on traffic safety these years. Combining the practical experiences with traffic safety situation of China, suggestions were proposed for road safety policies makers. For the covering abstract see ITRD E138091.
