Traffic signal control update (1999-2001).

This issue of Current Topics includes over 70 abstracts of reports, conference papers, books and journal articles which focus on the design, operation, optimisation, analysis and evaluation of traffic control systems. Amongst the specific topics covered are real-time signal control systems for use with intelligent transport systems, road pricing and parking; junction control and performance; bus priority systems; vehicle detectors of various types, such as overhead radar, infrared tag driven, inductive loop and vehicle specific detectors; standards and specifications. These items have been selected from the material added to the TRL Library Database between 1999 and 2001. Much of the relevant English language published literature from the UK, USA, Australia and Europe is included; some of the non-UK literature is included courtesy of the OECD International Transport Research Documentation (ITRD) database.
