Abstract

Car traffic is a vital and crucial element of the scenography of the modem city. Movement and tempo have become symbols of vitality and open possibilities. But, the influence of the car on the citizens daily environment is unfortunate. Copenhagen (Denmark) has chosen an alternative traffic development focusing at an environmental traffic management. The new urban development named the "Oerestad" will be a showcase for these alternative strategies. (A) The French title of this paper is: "Structure de traffic comme élément integrant de la scènographie urbaine et les stratégies des environnements urbanisées".
