Abstract

Some of the factors which influence gap acceptance behaviour are reviewed, and observations of traffic at a T-junction are reported. Observations at a semi-rural T-junction are described; results relating to the effect of approach speed on crossing gap acceptance, waiting time at the junction, kind of vehicle approaching, and gap acceptance for crossing and merging together, are presented.
