Abstract

The purposes of this book are to provide a fundamental framework for traffic engineering, design, and planning and to present the essential tools needed to answer the basic design and decision-making questions. The major features of the book are: statistics and probability travel forecasting and demand; marks for alternative designs tools for traffic and travel data collection and analysis; economic analysis and pricing; traffic flow theory and highway capacity performance; use of computers for analysing traffic systems.
