Abstract

Provided is an assessment of the status, issues and probable future of traffic management and motorist information systems in the United States. Traffic congestion is continuing to grow, especially in urban /suburban areas. Two systems which are nearing completion are discussed to examine current issues relating to major new systems.In- vehicular motorist information systems are discussed including the results of a september 1984 conference on this subject.
